In Gypsy magic, there is a highly effective ritual to connect with a loved one using a red thread and a ripe apple. If your partner hasn’t been in touch for a while and you are worried about them, especially if there is a chance someone else is influencing them while you’re away, this ritual can serve as a protection for your connection.

For the ritual, you need to wrap the photo of your loved one with red threads seven times and cut them in the middle while saying:

“I cut away all confusion, I break all ties, be reborn anew and come to me!”

Then, you need to pick a small apple from a tree, even an inedible one will work. Bring it home in silence; staying quiet on the way is the hardest part, as it seems everyone will want to talk to you. But you must remain silent! Take a gypsy needle, thread it with the same red thread you used to wrap the photo. Circle the apple horizontally (clockwise) with the needle and thread, as if sewing the two halves together, but don’t insert the needle into the apple.

Remove the needle from the thread and tie the ends of the thread together with three knots. You can use the needle as usual later.

A little trick: to make sure the thread stays on the apple and doesn’t slip off, press a small groove around the apple where you will tie the thread, slightly pushing the skin inward.

Then wrap the apple in your worn skirt (it shouldn’t be washed, so you need to wear it at least once after washing). As you wrap it, you can start speaking again and say this incantation:

“With my love, I cover you, with my strength, I protect you. My man, return to me!”

Place the wrapped apple in a dark place for three days.

After three days, take the apple and thread and bury them in the ground under the same tree from which you took the apple. While burying it, keep the thread on the apple and say:

“As I plant the seeds of love, I nourish the earth with my desire. Let true love grow from these seeds on this land. Spirit of the tree, I call you as a witness and ask you to seal this action! So be it, truly and for the greater good!”

Take a small branch from the tree, just a couple of centimeters, bring it home, and place it under your pillow. Keep the twig nearby as a connection to him until you either dream of him or he contacts you. If it bothers you under the pillow, place it under the bed near the headboard or on a bedside table. You can also tie the twig with the remaining thread and hang it above your bed. While tying the thread, say:

“I connect with my beloved, as the thread spins, so his path to me begins!”

You can wash and wear the skirt after the ritual. It has already served its purpose.
