In Gypsy magic, working with the Moon is of great importance, and many spells and rituals are based on appeals to the Moon-Gaena, using lunar energy flows for their processes. For the new lunar month, I present to you my Lunar Story.

My conversation with the Moon will allow you to hear ancient stories from Gypsy shuwanis and introduce you to the trends of the upcoming lunar month. Listen carefully, feel deeply… the Moon is speaking to you.

Shuwany waited for the Moon, peering into the velvety night sky. It was studded with bright August stars, and from time to time, one of them would break loose, leaving a bright streak across the sky as it fell somewhere into the distant gardens. So, when the Moon appeared, a question was already on the tip of Shuwany’s tongue.

“You know everything,” she began after greeting it, “so tell me: is making a wish on a falling star a foolish superstition, or does it actually work?”

“Judge for yourself,” the Moon smiled, “I will tell you one completely true story…”

🌟 Once upon a time, there was a young man. He was both kind and hardworking. But he wasn’t very lucky in life. Whatever he thought about, whatever he wished for – nothing ever worked out for him. Not a single dream in his entire life came true! One obstacle after another. And from this misfortune, the young man fell into despair, found joy in nothing, and walked around with his head hung low.

And in that village, on the outskirts, lived an old woman. The neighbors revered her as a healer, and some even considered her a witch. Whether that was true or not is unknown, but the young man, being a good and kind person, was always respectful to her and often helped her, as she was old and lonely. So, the old woman held the kindest feelings for him and, seeing his dejected state, once called him to her and said:

“I know what’s troubling you. I wouldn’t tell anyone else, for it is a great secret, but I will tell you. There is one way to overcome your sorrow and make all your wishes come true!”

The young man perked up, listening, catching every word the old woman said.

“And the method is this,” she said. “At midnight, climb the high hill on a moonless night, wait for a falling star, and say the magic spell. And after that, fear nothing – your wish will be granted! Even if the world turns upside down, it will come true! Well, if you want it to happen sooner, then help it along as best you can!”

The young man was delighted and ran to the hill the old woman had indicated that very night. He stood for a long, long time, peering into the dark sky, and finally waited for a falling star. And when he did, he said the old woman’s magic words and ran home happy.

He woke up in the morning and felt: everything had changed!

Joyful, he set to work and labored tirelessly until late in the evening – all to make his dream come true. And he worked for one day, and two, and day after day. When something didn’t work out, the young man didn’t give up or back down. He only said: my dream will come true, it has to, I said the cherished words!

And so deep was his confidence, so strong his stubbornness, that the dream indeed came true – the old woman was right, she didn’t deceive him! From that time on, the young man lived well and happily, for he could make any wish come true, now he knew how! True, some dreams were difficult, some required struggling for many years and expending much effort. But in the end, every single one – even the most impossible – came true! 🌟

“And all because,” the Moon remarked, “making a wish on a falling star is the most true and reliable method. But it only works under the right conditions! When faith in the dream’s fulfillment is unshakable, and the person does not retreat from the path to it and does not give up! Then any dream, even the boldest, will become reality!”
