Take 7 ribbons (cords or thick threads) in the colors of the rainbow. If you only have one shade of blue, use it for the blue color, even if it’s light, and substitute white for the sky-blue.
Tie all the ribbons together at one end in a single knot to hold them securely, as you’ll be braiding them. You can follow the braiding pattern shown below .
I recommend practicing a simple, even braid separately first. When performing the ritual, you can braid and recite the incantation while looking at the pattern for guidance.
As you braid, chant:
As life comes to me — so joy will be with me,
As joy comes to me — so strength will be with me,
As strength comes to me — so love will be with me,
As love stays with me — so the world will open to me,
As the world opens to me — so I will see the light,
When I see the light — the Gods will be with me!
Blessings of the Heavens on my life, my joy, my strength, my love, my world, and my light!
So it shall be!
Recite this incantation three times as you braid. Once complete, tie the ends into a single knot like the one at the beginning. Place the braid under your pillow or mattress as you sleep.
If you wish, you can embellish the braid with matching stones, charms, feathers, or beads.
