Freud called dreams the “royal road to the unconscious” and believed that in dreams, we fulfill our deepest desires and fantasies. He compared a dream to a riddle that we must solve. Dreams can draw our attention to what we do not accept in ourselves, what we do not realize, and what we do not want or cannot see.
The “Owl” spread (created by Mavka) is designed for dream interpretation. Very often, upon waking up, we realize that we had an important dream. Even if we remember every detail, we don’t know where to begin unraveling its meaning. Dream dictionaries mostly provide interpretations of individual symbols and sometimes contradict each other.
This spread offers a complete understanding of the dream, helps you see it in a new light, listen to its message, and decide how to act based on what you saw in the dream.

Card positions in the spread:
1 & 2 — The Owl’s Eyes – What the querent does not see before them (helps the querent see their dream in a new light, reveals what is hidden from them—what they missed, forgot, or didn’t want to remember—to peer into the darkness).
3 — The Owl’s Beak – What the dream was about (what the querent should take from the dream, “swallow,” or “digest” for their benefit; may indicate profit, being heard, or the need to talk to someone in a relaxed setting).
4 & 5 — The Owl’s Ears – What the querent did not hear (helps the querent listen to their dream, understand what was heard—hints, ideas, messages, intuition).
6, 7 & 8 — The Owl’s Wings – Answer the question of which direction to fly (what to do, how to act based on the dream, what is needed to develop the situation, how to achieve what is desired).
9 & 10 — The Owl’s Talons – Help the querent hold onto the branch (how to stay safe, protection, where to seek support, what to rely on).
Send your name and dream description to elena.shuwany@gmail.com.
