☀️ The Time Before the Summer Solstice is a special, deep, and subtle period of inner alignment — a time when we seem to slow down, purify ourselves, and sink inward to prepare for a transition into a new phase of life. We are not merely approaching an important turning point in the wheel of the year — we are preparing to step through it, like crossing a bridge of light and blooming energy into a space that resonates more fully with our renewed state of being.
The currents of Litha spin us into an energetic vortex, capable of propelling us into a new dimension — one where different frequencies live: maturity, awareness, inner wholeness. But to enter this space, it’s not enough to simply want it — we must be ready to receive these energies and allow them to guide us. Litha offers us its gifts: energies of support, inspiration, gentle yet powerful impulses that nudge us toward the realization of our inner potential. All that’s required is to learn to listen, trust, receive, and release.
🌷 A beautiful symbol of this process is the traditional floating of wreaths on water during Litha celebrations. In some places, it’s used for divination; in others, it’s a sacred ritual. But universally, it is an image of surrender — of trusting the current that carries our wishes to the gods or spirits, that supports our intentions and offers hope for their fulfillment.
We have invested so much effort on our path — made difficult, sometimes emotionally charged decisions, cultivated and protected our new self and envisioned future. We have woven our “wreath.” Now, it’s time to let it go — to give it to the current.
To entrust your wish to the river of life is to surrender to hope and even anticipation instead of control. And to do this, we must shift our focus from chasing results to embracing joy and celebration. As we immerse ourselves in this celebratory energy, we align with the flow. We become the wreath that the river carries into the ocean of our future.
🌷🪻 The Wreath Ritual 🪻🌷
A beautiful way to release control over your desire is to place it into a physical object. In the spirit of Litha, you can weave it into a symbolic wreath.
What is a wreath? A circle of braiding and intention. Take three threads or cords of different colors and braid them together, chanting your desires in the present tense as you do — anchoring them in affirmations like “I am beautiful, I am loved, I have a strong family, I am happy with my beloved,” and so on. Into these threads and knots, you weave your belief, your dream, your truth.
Tie the braid into a circle around your left wrist, like a little charm bracelet. Wear it until the day of the Summer Solstice. Then, between June 21st and 23rd, remove it — without untying — and float it down a river or stream if one is nearby. If not, hang it on a tree branch in a forest or park. By offering your wreath — to water or to tree — you perform an act of trust, a magical moment of closure.
And that’s when things begin to happen. Not because we forced them — but because we allowed them.
Wishing you a radiant Solstice! May your wreath find its path. 🌞
