“No, no, and NO again!” — today, we learn to use this magical word for everything we genuinely don’t need and everything others try to impose on us. As we approach Samhain, we practice mindfulness and minimalism, both when it comes to material possessions and all kinds of contacts and interactions. There are simply too many temptations around us, and too many habits and dependencies within us.
Today, the Magical Door opens through cleansing: letting go of what is pleasant but destructive, what is unpleasant and toxic, what is burdensome and suppressive. This can be anything you wish to exclude from your life — even something that may look “useful” on the surface but, once removed, will allow you to feel light and airy, like a fairy fluttering among blossoms. Away with anything that weighs you down and keeps you from feeling satisfied with yourself and your life.
Before Samhain, we cleanse ourselves and our surroundings, both physically and energetically. You don’t have to spend the entire day tidying up and getting bogged down in household chores. But even a symbolic sweep to clear away the clutter and refresh your personal world can give you room to breathe more easily and freely!
May all doors open for you!
